Tutorial Tuesday: The Perfect Maxi Skirt

Summer is on it's way so today's tutorial is an easy to make but comfy and stylish Maxi Skirt, great for the warmer weather (it is coming, trust us!).
The tutorial comes from the very talented and inspirational Deby and her award winning blog So Sew Easy.  If you haven't already visited So Sew Easy it really is an amazing site with loads to see and sew!
The skirt is really simple to make (just 3 pieces of fabric), patternless (we know how much you love patternless projects so will be looking for more in the coming tutorials) and only requires one metre of fabric (unless you are really really tall!)

The perfect Maxi skirt needs to -
-Fit at the waist without lots of gathered fabric.
-Skim over the hips without being skin tight, nor too loose.
-Allow you to take a normal full stride with ease.
-Have a fold over waist to adjust the length for wearing flats or heels.
-Be quick and easy to sew without a pattern.
Deby's blog has really clear instructions on drafting and cutting your fabric for the perfect fit.
If you're not comfortable with a fitted waistband, you could also make a narrower, shorter elasticated waist.
The finished skirt is light, comfy, stylish and can be worn everywhere, or as Deby says...
Girl Charlee Cotton Jerseys or Cotton Lycras are perfect for this make, flowy, soft and with just the right amount of stretch.  We have lots of lovely colours and patterns to choose from, some of our picks from the store -
