Tutorial Tuesday: Mermaid/Shark

When searching for the perfect Tutorial Tuesday feature, I recently stumbled across this Mermaid Tail Tutorial with FREE Sewing Pattern from Megan of Made for Mermaids

Megan has helpfully provided both a pictoral and a video tutorial to make things clear and simple for you.
There is a doll size version and also a shark version for those who want something with a bit of bite!
They are so adorable and easy to make that you might find yourself wanting an adult version!  They make the perfect gifts for birthdays, sleepovers or just for snuggling on the sofa.
Sew this tail up in an ultra soft knit and it will be so comfortable that your little one will want to wear it to bed. Happy Sewing!

You only need 1/2 metre for the top band, 1 metre for the main blanket and 1/2 metre for the tail.  Medium/Heavy weight knits like Sweatshirt Fleece, French Terry, Hacci Sweater or Cotton Lycra are perfect for this mermaid tail. Try sewing yours up in fun prints, solids, and stripes today! A few of my picks from the store:
