Top 10 Sewing Patterns of 2017

We are excited to announce our Top 10 Indie Sewing Patterns of 2017!  These are our top selling sewing patterns for last year.

View the entire collection below, with our hand-picked selection of suitable fabrics from the store.

Thank you to each and every one of our customers and to all of our indie pattern vendors.  Here's to more fabulous makes for 2018!
#10.
Thread Theory: Camas Blouse
Enjoy the unrestricted comfort of a t-shirt and the put together elegance of a blouse. This blouse is designed to be COMFORTABLE and can be sewn in stretch fabrics such as a cotton jersey knit and cotton spandex knit. It features shoulder and back yokes, elegant gathering, and a flattering curved v-shaped neckline placket. The gathers create a flattering shape that is loose enough to float over the body rather than cling to it. The delicately curved hem can be tucked into trousers and skirts or can be left loose to float over skinny jeans. The slim sleeves end just below the elbow to create the perfect multi-season blouse.

MiY: Longley Drapey Cardigan
You will live in this cardigan! Its generous draped front is seriously flattering and you can wrap it around yourself when you want to be really cosy. The deep neckband and hemband and foldback cuffs can be made in contrast fabric. This pattern is designed for stretch knit fabrics only and can be made in a variety of knitted fabrics from single jersey to sweatshirt. You can mix and match your fabrics, using contrasting colours or prints for the neck, hem and cuffs.

Itch to Stitch: Kathryn Top & Dress
Kathryn Top & Dress can be made casual or slightly more formal depending on the fabric used. When made with a cotton jersey or interlock fabric, the top can be paired with your favourite shorts or jeans for a perfect summer outfit. When made with a slinky knit, Kathryn can be your go-to dress for a date night out. The three sets of pleats along the round neckline provide interest to an otherwise simple garment. An empire-waist seam visually elongates your legs, yet the natural waist is shaped so your curves are not buried. There's no sleeve to sew, but your upper arm is covered by the extended shoulder.

#7.
Sew to Grow: Bondi Top
The Bondi Top is the absolute wardrobe staple and perfectly pairs with skinny jeans, a great pair of fitted harem pants, or tucked into a skirt. So versatile and a great way to show off fun prints. This top features a curved hem that is slightly longer in the back, and a contrast back yoke. Stylish Simplicity!

Tilly and the Buttons: Zadie Dress
Throw on your Zadie dress for comfort and style at work or play. The dress has striking diagonal seams, concealing lovely (and practical!) in-seam pockets. The fitted bodice has a flattering empire waistline and round neckline finished with a neckband. It flares out into a feminine, knee-length semi-pleated skirt that's great for swishing. Choose from cap, three-quarter or full length raglan sleeves.

If you're in as love with the Zadie dress as we are, then you'll be getting super excited about the infinite design opportunities you can create. Those panels are screaming out for contrast colours or patterns! Follow Tilly's five tips for making a colour blocked dress that cover planning, sewing and after-care.

The skirt features pull on styling, elastic waist, and a fitted silhouette that is sure to become your favourite wardrobe staple! Girl Charlee Sewing Pattern-less Collection features both instructions for a serger and regular sewing machines and is all printed on a single piece of paper that folds in the middle to create a pop-up card for easy storage!
